After graduating from the University of Florida in , I realized that cooking was still my true passion so I braved the cold winters for the first time and went on to earn a degree in Culinary Arts at the Culinary Institute of America in New York in On breaks from school, I increased my hands-on experience working at The Breakers Palm Beach in their banquet kitchen, and part time at Chez Gourmet.

After graduating, I returned to Chez Gourmet as a Sous Chef and became their Head Chef in I will always be a student of the culinary arts, constantly learning and growing and experimenting. I love trying new things with food and making people happy with my food. I truly want my passion for cooking to translate to those I serve, so that they enjoy eating my food as much as I love creating it.

Since , I have loved planning weddings and events at Chez Gourmet, always trying to bring some international influence to South Florida. Born and raised on the Island of Malta, I studied at the International School of Tourism and Catering for three years, and then received a scholarship to Florence, Italy, to study hotel management — learning all aspects of that business but with special attention to restaurants and banquets.

After returning to Malta, I worked with The Corinthia Group of resorts in public relations and then spent time in Eastern Europe, mainly Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia, managing offices for local companies. In I moved to the United States and started a family and a successful business before coming full circle back to my true calling of planning parties.

I am always excited to help a bride fulfill her dreams and have been lucky enough to become a specialist for the romantic and gorgeous weddings at the prestigious Flagler Museum in Palm Beach!

I have cooked for my family for as long as I can remember. I first learned at home in Haiti, where cooking was mandatory, and I grew to love learning old family recipes and creating new ones. I came to the U.

in with my husband and started a beautiful family, which has now grown to include seven children! Over the years I have turned my love of cooking into a fascinating career, beginning as a buffet manager and garde manger at country clubs and prestigious restaurants throughout Palm Beach county.

Over time, the required cooking I was taught as a young girl grew into a passion that I sought to advance, taking classes and improving my skills along the way.

At Chez Gourmet since , I love to do a little bit of everything, and really enjoy the variety of jobs my position allows me. I view cooking like shopping and art — seeking out different elements and matching flavors to make a beautiful culinary work of art.

Event Producer and Graphic Designer. I began my event-planning career in New York, working first for UNICEF and then for a prestigious trade show management company. After moving to Florida in , I worked for the American Cancer Society organizing fundraising events in Broward County before taking time off to raise my two daughters and plan fabulous parties for them!

I then returned to work and became the Editor of a Boca Raton magazine, bringing my creative talents to that position. At Chez Gourmet since , I have done everything from staff coordination to office management to proposal writing, graphic design and event planning.

I love the variety of my job and sharing in all the happy occasions that we celebrate with our clients. I joined the Chez Gourmet family in and was certain, after 17 years in the education field, that I had found my new calling!

It is such a joyful feeling to work alongside families and help them plan their special celebrations! And with the amazing chefs and staff at Chez Gourmet the end results do not disappoint!

I am a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida. My husband and I have two biological children and have also had the honor of being foster parents to many children since A native of New York, I attended college in Florida and never looked back.

I always enjoyed cooking and eating , but for my early career I was more involved in the business side of hospitality. On my long drives, I would watch the scenery and noticed a building going up. One day they installed the sign on the building: Florida Culinary Institute…and I had my AHA moment!

It was as if all my previous work in the industry, as well as my assigned route, had conspired to tell me what I was really meant to do. Now, in my second professional chapter, I get to do what I love and share the fruits and pastries, cakes and cookies of my labor.

We are thrilled to have celebrated over 20 years in such an exciting business. We have always sought to bring to each and every event a diverse culinary background and a desire to please your palate with the most delectable flavors from around the world.

Prior to starting Chez Gourmet, we were lucky to live in Maui for five years where we developed a love for Pacific Rim cuisine and fabulous food. Missing family and friends, we moved back to the mainland and opened the award-winning Pastabilities in Atlanta, Georgia.

A few years later, after once again hearing the call of the ocean, we sold the restaurant to pursue our dream of creating a unique catering company in beautiful, sunny South Florida. Today, Chez Gourmet has grown beyond our highest expectations, encompassing both catering and party planning that has delighted thousands of customers and we are so proud to pass the reins to Sarah and Kelli — amazing partners who are always ready to bring a smile to every guest and make every event a memorable success.
